How chess terms were derived

I’ve always been fascinated by chess. Today, I’m a whiz at planning strategy and using the various pieces to best advantage. But I still remember how I got hooked on chess as a young kid. Of course, like most kids, my love affair with chess started by watching my elders play. My eyebrows would always rise and I would always be spellbound whenever one of my elder cousins would exclaim “checkmate” which a triumphant smile and a gleam in his eyes. I told myself, I want that feeling, too. So, I started to play chess.

When I found out exactly how checkmate got its meaning, I was hooked all the more. Apparently, the word ‘checkmate’ comes from the English translation of the Persian phras “shah mat” which means “the king is finished”. As an impressionable young child with dreams of heroism and courage in warfare, slaying an opponent’s king was the ultimate for me. And even the pieces have such interesting meanings.

For example, the word ‘rook’ came from the word ‘rath’ in Sanskrit which is translated as ‘chariot.’ However, it has other meanings in other languages. In Persia, it refers to the word ‘roc’ which is a great mythical bird with supernatural powers. In India, the piece is called ‘haathi’ or ‘elephant.’

Interesting enough, the bishop is also called ‘elephant’ or ‘pil’ in Persia. There were little or no elephants in Europe and the west, yet the reference to this piece as an elephant spread there nonetheless. In Russia, the bishop is referred to as a ‘slon’ the Russian word for elephant. In Spain, the piece is called ‘alfil,’ which is believe to have come from the Arabic words for elephant (al is the, fil is elephant). The piece was previously only referred to as a bishop in England mainly because the original shape of the piece fetured the tusk of an elephant which resemble a bishop’s mitre.

The there’s the queen. The piece was originally called ‘farzin’ or ‘vizier’ in Persia and ‘firzan’ in Arabic. In Russia, the piece was called the ‘fers.’ It is also known as ‘alfferza’ in Western Europe.

Hidden spy cameras all-seeing eyes

With the advent of reality shows, more and more people are becoming aware of the possibility of using hidden cameras to spy on other people for different reasons. Seeing people in their most unguarded moments can be fascinating. Camera manufacturers have taken advantage of the fact that people want to have hidden spy cameras similar to that of James Bond or the popular prank shows of television. This has since contributed to the steady rise of the hidden spy cameras industry.

While most hidden spy cameras are used to capture harmless pranks on video, there are other uses that are not as wholesome. Voyeurs spying on their neighbors and secretly filming other people having sexual intercourse shamelessly utilize hidden spy cameras. Hidden spy cameras, however, are not just for people with nefarious plans. Hidden spy cameras are also great tools to keep watch over your home and loved ones, thereby ensuring peace of mind. They can be used to make sure that your children are treated well by their nannies and babysitters. Similarly, they can also be used to catch criminals or philandering spouses. Hidden spy cameras are so effective and handy, in fact, that they are even used by law enforcement agencies, such as the police and the FBI.

Strings or No Strings Attached

Hidden spy cameras can either be wireless or wired. Wireless hidden spy cameras have concealed transmitters that send captured images to a remote recording equipment. Wired hidden spy cameras, on the other hand, are connected to recording equipment, like VCRs and PCs, through a physical cable. Wireless cameras rely on battery power, while the wired sort has the advantage of a ready power supply.

Its Hidden for a Reason

As the name suggests, hidden spy cameras are always concealed. They are usually hidden in everyday, nondescript objects, such as clocks, calculators, radios, teddy bears, and even plants.

Recent breakthroughs in wireless technology now allow hidden spy cameras to transmit videos real-time. So, not only can you see the action as it unfolds, you can take the necessary action as well. All you would need is a PC or laptop with an Internet access to view your hidden spy cameras. You can even do online surveillance, if you wish. You can also set up your hidden spy cameras in such a way that they trigger alarms or send emails to you when suspicious activities are captured.

If you don't have this technology, however, don't fret. Most hidden spy cameras can be set up to work unattended. They can record hours of video and can be plugged into your VCR or PC directly for review. This way, you don't miss anything and can gather solid proof of misbehavior.

Hidden Or Not, You Still Want the Best

There are a few things to consider when investing on hidden spy cameras. You have to take into consideration the range of the video you wish to capture. Wide-angle viewing is also a nifty feature to consider. It allows you to view the captured video from several vantage points.

For image quality, you need to consider your hidden spy cameras' resolution. Invest on hidden spy cameras that can automatically adjust to varying lighting conditions so you can get the clearest images possible. This way, you don't miss what happens in your home or office when you're out.

What is the safest seat in an airplane

A question often asked by anxious airplane passengers is this: What is the safest seat in an airplane? The answer: none. Because accidents can erupt at any spot within the aircraft.

Some people are of the opinion that the nearer one is seated to an emergency exit, the safer one is. Sadly, that is not absolutely true. A fire can start near the emergency exit as in any place within the plane. And if the emergency exit is jammed, then the person sitting nearest it is in as much of the same fix as the one sitting farthest from it.

Regardless of where the passenger is seated inside the aircraft, the risks to one’s safety is greatly minimized by one thing above all else: by being alert and aware of one’s surroundings.

Being alert means being watchful and attentive. Note the location of all exits. Listen to all pre-flight and in-flight instructions. Do not drink too much. Use common sense and try not to do anything that will be detrimental to your own safety, as well as to that of others, such as having too many or too heavy carry-on luggage, spilling hot drinks, being careless with pointed objects or things with sharp edges, and the like. Again, use common sense.

Airplane accidents are rare, despite the fears and misgivings surrounding air travel. But if one does occur during the flight, it is very important for the passenger to stay calm and not to panic. Fear is a highly contagious disease. Many casualties in accidents, even those that happened on land, could have been prevented had the panic been contained. Thus, in case of an accident, take a deep breath, keep the tone of voice down and follow the line.

There is no such thing as the safest seat in the plane. But any passenger can always make his or hers the safest seat if he or she chooses to, wherever he or she is seated. Creating the sense of safety within one’s self, after all, is a mind game.

What you can do to generate website traffic

Website traffic is the most crucial part to having an online business. Sure you have to have a product with public appeal and quality content to promote your product. But without traffic, you will have no business. It may take time, but there are some things you can do to generate website traffic for yourself.

The more back links you have to your website, the more people have a chance to getting to your website. A back link is essentially another website that has your link on it. If you have 50 back links, there are 50 places people can find your website link and get to your website. That is why it is vital that you try to get as many back links as possible.

One way to get a back link is to write testimonials for any business that you have gone through that already has a high page rank. If the business has a high page rank, that means they are reeling in a lot of traffic each day. Not everyone looks at the testimonial page, but there are many who want to see what that business is all about. And that is where your link becomes relevant.

Another way to generate website traffic is to write articles. If you can write clear and precise articles that offer something fresh, it can be a great way to show your knowledge on your topic. Then, write out a resource box and begin submitting your article all over. Each article directory that publishes one of your articles acts as a back link, so submit to as many directories and sites that you can.

One of the more popular ways to generate traffic is traffic exchange. Traffic exchange is a type of website that provides a service for webmasters in exchange for traffic. As you submit your website, you then have to browse other member’s sites in exchange for credit. The way you benefit from this is that other members will view your site, and may become enthralled by it and purchase something.

The last way you can generate more website traffic is by posting in forums. The more forums you post in, the more variety you can bring to your website. It is equally important that you post several times in each forum so that people become familiar with you. If you make a post every day in several different forums, people will eventually come to your website to see what you are all about.

Without website traffic, you have a great website with no business. That is why it is essential that you take into consideration the tips listed above to begin generating traffic. It is crucial that you are patient, but by doing a little of everything, you will reel in loads of traffic.

How to defeat terrorism

:
Stopping terrorism is not like gambling, in poker there are different variables that can affect the outcome but it fighting terror the only way to win is to fight to the end.

Many people thing that the terrorist feel they have been wronged by something or someone and that giving them something will end the fight be it land or money, but history has repeatedly shown us that by appeasing the terrorists we are only giving them what they want, and prolonging the fight. They will continue to take everything they are given but they never stop wanting more.

An example of this is clear in the Israeli - Palestinian conflict. Israel allows the PLO to return to the west bank and Gaza and form the Palestinian Authority, Israel supplied weapons and the Americans provided training to the Palestinians so they could start a army to fight crime and terrorism.

Israel was repaid by the terrorists by suicide bombings in malls, restaurants, clubs and busses.

More recently Israel pulled all Jews from Gaza and gave all the land to the Palestinians. The Israelis left behind infrastructure and greenhouses, which could have been used for businesses by the Palestinians. The moment the last troops were out of Gaza the terrorists destroyed what the Israelis left behind and again repaid them with rockets on Sderot and Ashkelon, two Jewish cities bordering Gaza.

Many of you are thinking that these problems were brought on by the Israelis stealing Palestinians land, but what was it that the United States did that angered Al Qaeda?

Many will say it is because America has troops in Saudi Arabia where the two holiest locations to the Muslim people are, these people are wrong. This fight is not about the terrorists wanting America out of the Middle East.

This was is about the pride of one individual. Osama Bin Laden, and that’s all it is about.

In 1991 when Saddam Hussein Invaded Kuwait, Saudi Arabia was worried and was looking to get help to protect its oil fields. Osama Bin Laden offered his assistance to help protect his homeland with the help of his Mujahadim, who had helped protect Afghanistan from the Russians in the 80's.

But rather then gamble on Bin Laden's holey warriors, the Saudis asked for help from the United States, and this wounded Bin Laden's pride. Now Bin Laden is on a quest to show the world that he is the true protector of Islam, do not be fooled this is a war of religion.
The only thing that has ever worked is not to try to negotiate with these people but to fight them with force. You will find that with any military action against terrorists once you start to make some headway they will start to yell about a Hudna or temporary cease fire.

When you are in a poker tournament in Casinos Online or land based and your opponent is almost out of chips, do you back off and let your enemy regroup or go all in and force him out.

The Only way to defeat terrorism is to fight terrorism whenever and wherever it shows its head, and to never let up on those who would use terror to forward their goals.

Most do nowadays but some countries may not. c) Can you order more checques through the ATM?

For example, if your run a movie rental business that's open till midnight you may want to do late night or very early morning deposits. So in this case ensure the bank has a night deposit box. 2. Find out the transaction fees and don't assume the fees are similar to personal accounts. Banks generally charge businesses way more due to the increase in transactions. 3. Mortgage law

A mortgage involve transfers an interest of the land as security for the loan or any other obligations, and the most popular method for financing the real estate transaction. The mortgager is one among party who transfer interest in lands or the borrower of loan, and the other party is the Mortgagee which is an financial institution , or provider of a loan or interest provided in exchange of security interest

A mortgage would be repaid in instalments which will include principal amount along with the interest that has been borrowed , when the borrower fails to make the payments will result in foreclosure of mortgage. Foreclosure of the mortgage will allow mortgagee to state the full mortgage debt that’s due, should be paid immediately, and this would be accomplished through the acceleration clause of the mortgage, and if the mortgager fails to pay after this declaration foreclosures of the home occurs that will lead to capture of security interest in turn lead to sale of the mortgage home for the remaining mortgage debts.

Foreclosures process will depend on the particular state law, as well as the term of mortgage of that state. The most popular processes are the court proceedings that are Judicial foreclosure or it will grant the power to mortgagee to sell off the property that is the power of sales foreclosure. Many states regulate the acceleration clauses, which will allow the late payments for avoiding the foreclosures.

There are 3 theories that exist concerning who has the legal title for the mortgaged property and under this theories, title theory is to security interest that rest with mortgagee, and most of the states follows lien theory, in this theory legal title remains with mortgagor and unless if there is foreclosures, and finally is Intermediate theory which will apply lien theory, and if there will be any default on mortgage, it will apply title theory.

Mortgagee and the mortgager has the right for transferring their appeal in mortgage, but some states holds that if purchaser of the home subject to mortgage do not openly take over mortgage Mortgagees employs due on encumbrance and due on sale clauses for the prevention of the transferring of the mortgages, and these clauses will allow acceleration that having the interest with principal gets due immediately.

The state statutory and as well as common law governs the laws of the mortgage. Mortgagees are being regulated by the state or Federal Law or any agency that depend on under whose laws they are established or chartered.
