Understanding how to get the best car finance deal

Finding your ideal car is the easy part, finding the best car finance deal to pay for your new car can be a nightmare especially if you know very little about the subject. Luckily there is an option which is available to everyone which makes life a lot easier when it comes to getting the best car finance deal possible and that is to go online with a specialist website.

Not only will a specialist site be able to find you the cheapest loan but they will also be able to offer you great advice regarding loans, one of the most confusing matters when it comes to car loans is the technical terms which are used; a good website will give you this information in plain English.

One of the biggest factors that you do have to take into account even when going with a specialist is to make sure that you can afford a loan in the first place. While this is only common sense some thought should be given as to how much you want to borrow up to a maximum, how much you can afford to pay back each month on the loan and whether you prefer a fixed rate or variable rate of interest on the loan.

When taking the cost of the loan into account don’t forget one very important point and that is the cost of the car for its running and maintenance. Factors to take into account here include the amount of petrol it will cost to run the car, how much the insurance will cost per year and also the road tax, all of these things will have an impact on your income and outgoings.

Loans and interest rates do vary from lender to lender and of course a specialist will realise this and are able to use their expertise to find you the best interest rate along with taking any other offers into account when getting you the best car finance deal.

Car buying critical negotiating tips

O. K. you’re patting yourself on the back for all of the homework you’ve done on your perspective car that you are going to buy… so you’re fired up and ready to go… right?

It’s great that you’ve done much homework on the car that you’ve got your eye on… good job. But, consider this – have you given any thought at all as to what your negotiating game plan is going to be? If you really want to maximize your car deal, it only makes sense to give this area some additional consideration.

Negotiating is skill that can be learned and gets better with practice. Throughout everyone’s life – first as children then as parents – negotiation occurs rather regularly. Now that you’re looking at stepping onto a car dealership, you shouldn’t suddenly feel as though you’ve never been involved in negotiations… I’ll bet that you have.

First and foremost, plan to succeed. Simple thought I know, but it is part of the preparation. If you go into the process thinking that you would really like to get the selling price down to a certain figure, but at the same time you’re telling yourself that this probably won’t happen… then guess what… it won’t. You won’t have the confidence, and the sales person or sales manager will get work on your shaky expectations and get you off your target price.

Be mindful of the other hand though. If you go into the car selling price negotiating process like the proverbial ‘bull in a china shop’ you’ll probably trip the sales person’s and the sales manager’s hot button and they will push back just as vigorously creating a negotiating chasm.

The key as a polished negotiator is to stay calm and pleasant and present win-win scenarios.

Secondly – Be prepared. Don’t go into any type of transaction such as buying a car unprepared. Don’t just know about the car and what you want your car to come with – know what each of these options cost… don’t guess or assume… There is profit to be negotiated upon across the board at any given dealership. Knowledge is confidence, and sales people will pick up on the fact that you know of which you talk and this will significantly cut down on the sales b. s.

Next – Leave yourself wiggle room inside your cocoon of happiness target. In other words never start with the price you want to pay. Remember, by definition here we are negotiating with another person… if you start with the price you want to pay; you’ll have no choice but to negotiate your way up and out of it. So, if you’re will to spend say $15,000 then start at $14,000 and work to create a win-win somewhere in between. And, oh by the way… no one in the dealership other than you has or will have NO IDEA of what you’re willing to pay.

Here’s a bonus tip – if the sales person kicks off the negotiations with the first offer, don’t counter with a number… that’s right no counter number… instead counter back with a pleasant … “I’m afraid that’s somewhat beyond my budget” … make them come back with another offer to get you in the game. Now you just gotten a newer offer and you haven’t even jumped in yet. The first offer from the dealer is usually their ‘home run’ swing… they don’t really expect you to serve yourself up at this point (although some do… and hence the home run in profit).

Keep in that this is not a one way street. You’ll have to participate and make some concessions in order for your deal to be a winner. For instance, if you can’t get to the selling price you want then get more for your trade, get an extended warranty at dealer cost, get some no cost service or oil changes, floor mats, … anything that keeps the deal moving forward and the negotiations open… don’t get hung up on ‘beating you opponent’ over just one aspect of the deal.

This is where many people get frustrated and either walk away after getting so close or just give in as a result of the frustration. Negotiating a car deal is a package not just a selling price. Sure the selling price is the focal point, but you have to give the appearance that you are offering some concession as well. In fact, as your target price get within range, don’t just agree on the price and then begin the delivery process. If you do… you will be in a much weaker position to negotiate any extras you may want such as that extended warranty… you see… make sure all potential aspects of the deal are in place before you shake hands on the price.

Weaker sales seen for third quarter

AUTOMAKERS REPORTED WEAK SEPTEMBER VEHICLE SALES against a backdrop of continued economic headwinds. Still, some automakers -- especially those with new models automakers -- fared better than those without new wares. General Motors, Nissan and Honda reported gains; Ford, Toyota and Chrysler saw declines. Total industry sales in September ran at a seasonally adjusted rate of 16.23 million units compared with 16.60 million in September last year.

"This month was pretty much in line with what we expected," said Jesse Toprak, executive director of Edmunds. com's industry analysis. "Auto manufacturers that saw the most gains had new or freshened models -- GM with the Cadillac CTS and new crossovers, Honda with the Accord, Nissan with the Altima."

One surprise, Toprak noted, was the strength of the luxury segment, surprising because of weakness in the housing market, higher gas prices and the interest rate crunch. "Those factors didn't effect buyers of new luxury vehicles," Toprak noted.

GM, Ford and Chrysler captured 52.3 percent market share in September, down from 55.1 percent in September 2006 and up from 52.1 percent in August.

September Market Share for the Big 6 Automakers of GM 25.6%

Toyota Market Share 16.3%

Ford Market Share 14.4%

Chrysler Market Share 12.2%

Honda Market Share 9.2%

Nissan Market Share 7.2%

To help with sluggish sales, General Motors Corp. has added some new incentives on its large pickups and sport-utility vehicles for October following its second-straight month of sales gains, Bloomberg News reported today. The offers of $1,000 cash rebates on such vehicles as the 2007 and 2008 Chevrolet Silverado large pickup and GMC Envoy SUV, began Tuesday and run through the end of the month, GM spokesman John McDonald told Bloomberg.

GM also extended through Oct. 31 its offer of zero-percent financing for up to five years on some SUVs and large pickups, McDonald said. The $1,000 cash rebates are in addition to other incentives and can't be used with the zero-percent loans.

Information on bosch vp 44 diesel pumps for diesel trucks

If you are looking for a new injection pump for your Dodge Cummins diesel engine, but are not sure which is the best model, than please continue reading. In this article we explain some common failures with injection pumps. The Cummins diesel engine manufactured by Dodge between 1998 and 2002 came equipped with a Bosch VP44 injection pump. Unfortunately these injection pumps have been know to have their fair share of issues and may need to be replaced.

Bosch VP44 injection pumps perform four basic functions:

1. Distributing the high-pressure, metered fuel to each cylinder at the precise time

2. Metering the exact amount of fuel for each injection cycle

3. Varying the timing relative to engine speed.

4. Producing the high fuel pressure required for injection

The Bosch VP44 is an electronic rotary distributor pump that can vary fuelling and injection timing, and also contains fuelling, timing, and diagnostic data.

The number one cause of Bosch VP44 injection pump failure is a drop in fuel line pressure, which is usually due to a malfunctioning lift pump. Normal fuel pressure is around 15psi and if the pressure drops below 5psi an injection pump failure is probable. Remember bad lift pumps can run unnoticed until costly damage is done to the Bosch VP44 injection pump.

The following are the top two most common mechanical failures:

1. Check Engine Code 216

This is the most common mechanical failure and occurs over a period of time when weak lift pumps, with low fuel pressure; rupture the diaphragm in the front of the injection pump. The timing piston will then vibrate to a point where it wears the housing of the pump down until the fuel is able to bypass the piston. Dodge has recognized this problem for some time, and they no longer even sell the lift pump that goes on the side of the block anymore, instead they replace it with a unit that is now mounted in the tank.

2. Rotor Seizure

Another mechanical failure with the Bosch VP44 injection pump happens when the rotor seizes in the distributor section of the pump. The most common cause for the seizure is a lack of lubrication. Since the fuel lubricates the Bosch VP44 injection pumps, weak lifts pumps can again be blamed for this failure. The seizure will then break the Drive Plate and the truck will stop running, never to start again, until the Bosch VP44 injection pump is replaced.

Preventing Bosch VP44 injection pump Failure

The best way to avoid failures of the Bosch VP44 injection pump is to prevent them from happening. Purchasing a replacement lift pump, one that is of a better quality than what comes from the factory will help. If that option is too costly, you can also install a gauge to monitor your fuel pressure. With the gauge you will be able to know when your lift pump is going out and can easily fix the problem before you lose the Bosch VP44 injection pump.

Preventing problems before they occur is the best way to take care of your truck.

Car hauler dump trailers equipment trailer gooseneck trailer utility trailer

If you a vehicle owner or in any way related to the transport industry, then you must be familiar with the term of trailers and also its usage. Depending upon the usage and requirement, you can choose from various types of trailers, such as open-air trailers or enclosed trailers.

Open trailers are also known as car haulers as they are used to transport cars from one place to another location. Apart from it, they can also be utilized to haul farm tractors, ATVs, motorcycles, lawn equipments and materials that have to be dumped. On the other hand, concessions, general cargo, miscellaneous equipments, ATVs, cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles are hauled by using enclosed trailers.

Enclosed haulers are in a way better than open haulers as they provide protection against hazards, such as UV light damage, theft, vandalism, bad weather and other security and road hazards.

While you are planning to purchase a trailer, always consider the requirement of the specific size of the trailer. The maximum tongue weight and load carrying capacity of the tow vehicle are the other factors that should be considered. Do not forget to verify your trailer’s weight once it is fully loaded with what you have actually decided to haul. So, it is better to determine the weight of items you are planning to tow.

Weight is a great determiner to know how many axles will be required for your trailer. Apart from weight and size of the expected load, purpose, turning radius and budget of the load are some other aspects that should be analyzed before making the purchase of the trailer.

A single axle trailer is used for loads varying from light to moderate loads whereas tandem axle trailer is good for heavy loads. Travel trailers and utility trailers are available in multiple and single axle varieties that permit tow vehicles of different sizes. For more information on car haulers, equipment trailer, and dump trailers, you can simply log on to TexasBraggTrailers. com. You can have a look at various trailers and haulers available with us.

A gooseneck trailer is another important variety that is mainly employed for equipments and heavy loads towing as it has a tighter turning radius and improved stability.

Utility trailers are of great use for both home owners and contactors as well. These multipurpose utility trailers are available in varied sizes so as to cater to your specific requirements like for lifting lawn mowers, vehicles, golf carts as well as ideal for hauling small equipment too. Car haulers are used for specific purpose of hauling your vehicles, including personal car or racing car. Apart from car haulers, another variety is equipment trailer which are used to transfer skid loaders, excavators, and small tractors. Dump trailers are used for small purposes at homes as well as for commercial purposes. These types of dump trailers are available in various types of models, sizes and weights.

Cash in on a qashqai

No disrespect intended, but is naming a car after a desert dwelling nomadic tribe from South West Iran guaranteed to win sales in Europe?

Nissan obviously think and hope so, because that's where the name for their quirky looking Qashqai comes from. But when I think Qashqai I now think Citroen. The reason being the seats remind me of a Xantia I had as a company car in the last millennium. A car with big, soft, comfy seats that were a delight to slip into after a hard day pounding a computer keyboard in the office. It had style, it was a brilliant towcar and it leaked vital fluid all over the place. But it was a decent car that did the job asked of it and it was always comfortable. The Qashqai? You get the feeling it too would be a loyal friend. It too is comfortable in a cosseting and relaxing way, and during its time in our hands it did what it had to without fault. The only blip in the relationship was a smell akin to Paula Radcliffe's Reeboks appearing one night (at least what I imagine one of Paula Radcliffe's Reeboks might smell like) which disappeared as quickly as it arrived. Air con whiff? I don't know, but very glad it went.

Qashqai is kind of unique. It looks like a butch muscly off roader but it isn't. Well, not in 2.0 litre 2WD form as sampled here, although there is a 4WD version which should cut the mustard. It's dubbed a unique crossover concept which loosely translates to a passenger car top half mated to a strong and solid looking lower portion. So, the car shown on TV as a motorised skateboard with a difference is different. People who buy it are unlikely to conform to the norm, and Nissan predict customers for the car will be individuals with their own agendas, and 80 per cent of them will be buying a Nissan for the first time. They'll appreciate the fact it's all very neatly laid out inside, with loads of interior space which gives you a good driving position with plenty head, leg and shoulder room. Well done the chaps at Cranfield for that one. Throw in the optional panoramic glass roof (Ј700) and the interior becomes very light and airy – great on a sunny day.

Good on road manners, running predictably in a straight line with no wavering, and with good steering response too. Clutch and gearbox are very light to use, making it easy for anyone to drive. The 2.0 petrol engine offers adequate performance and is very quiet in use. I had the radio turned down quite low and I could still hear Chris Moyles yabbering away. But then can't you always? Performance wise it develops 140PS at 6000rpm, and 194Nm of torque at 4800rpm, and its combined mpg is quoted at 34.4.

The cabin is very user friendly, with one downside. The window lifter buttons on the drivers door are not to my mind in the optimum position. I have the seat fully back in its range but even so found it awkward to operate the window controls because of their location on the door panel. Just about the only thing in the cabin that doesn't fall easily to hand and because they don't it's all the more noticeable. Trim levels are VISIA, ACENTA and TEKNA. The mid range ACENTA gives you – on top of a standard spec that includes Bluetooth connectivity, aircon, glovebox cooler, automatic door locking and a drive computer – automatic headlights and wipers, ultransonic reversing beepers (but which need to be a bit louder), dual zone climate control, front foglights and an alarm system.

Prices start on the road at Ј13,499 for a 1.6 litre VISIA, with the most expensive model being a 2.0 litre dCi TEKNA SAT NAV at Ј23,299. There's a total of 45 different models to choose from, with the engines choices being 1.6 petrol, 1.5 dCi, 2.0 petrol and 2.0 dCi. Something for everyone, then.
