Useful self help resources

For establishing a guide to health and wellness, a person has many resources at their disposal that will provide help them in many areas. Most illnesses occur from exposure to outside sources but people are more susceptible to the illnesses because they lack the proper diet and nutrition to fight off the diseases naturally. The self-help efforts of medical professionals, healthcare administrators, and family can have a dramatic effect on the life of an individual.

Some medical professionals might recommend a vitamin regimen to improve the immune system. They might also recommend that a sleep study take place to rule out any sleep disorders that might be affecting the person's health. Vitamins, nutritional supplements, and the proper amount of sleep each night can enhance the body's immune system and diminish the threat of illnesses dramatically. Identifying the causes for some symptoms might require a lifestyle study of the individual.

People can access information about nutritional supplements through a multitude of websites established on the internet. The internet is filled with millions of self-help resources that are reliable and will give the correct dosages of vitamins that will give a person more vitality and improve their quality of life. There are many articles about health and wellness published throughout the year and people can gain access to these self-help resources by purchasing a newspaper each day.

People can use health and fitness magazines as self-help resources to learn about healthy diets or they can turn to health care professionals that specialize in nutrition and can supply several diet plans that will be quite suitable for people of all shapes and sizes. Using these self-help resources at any time is quite easy because they do not look out of place in a work or home environment. Health and fitness magazines are widely accepted self-help reference materials that are affordable and can be useful to every member in the family.

The subscription rates for self-help magazines make them one of the best self-help tools available to the public today. People can find helpful hints on fashion trends or gain a wealth of information about a personality disorder. Some information in the pages of the magazine might help obese people find meetings to attend or inform them about surgical procedures that can be used to lose weight. Any type of deficiency can be improved upon with the help of the self-help tools in these articles.

Some people use internet chat rooms as a self-help resource. In this anonymous environment, a person can build up confidence levels and learn to express feelings without threat of exposure or fear of failure. The topics that are discussed in the internet chat rooms will vary from day to day, and the confidence gained by the exposure to others with the same problems in this controlled environment has been known to help treat many social disorders. This type of cyber therapy is a great tool for friends to use to help those that suffer from some mental disorders and the chat rooms serve as a low cost method of finding self-help support for many problems.

What if god could write you a blank check

I have read just about every possible book on creating a wealth and prosperity, yet having enough money always seemed to elude me. Even after I committed to living God’s vision in my life full-time, I was still living on the edge of financial disaster. I decided enough was enough and one night in my evening prayer, I asked The Lord to reveal to me what it was I was missing. I went to sleep knowing I was on the verge of a breakthrough.

The next morning, I was laying in bed reading (one of my favorite past times) and God let me know what was missing in my world. He reminded me that as a child of The Most High, He has given me dominion over the earth, yet I didn’t see money and relationships as part of that dominion. At that point I admitted I truly did believe that money and relationships had dominion over me.

This insight left my mouth hanging wide open! I had to admit that I did believe that money had control over me. My emotions. My social life. My business. My daughter and me. My home. Everything. I call these rough realizations “spiritual spankings” and God let me have it that day.

As I travel the country speaking, I am constantly baffled at how many of us do not do what God created us to do out of fear that it won’t pay the bills. It is easy to be faithful when the bills are paid, but can we believe beyond our circumstances? Can we believe God gives us dominion over money? Will we believe God will open up the windows of heaven and pour blessings upon us if we’d only listen to His urges that will lead us to financial prosperity beyond that which we can imagine? Your money flow will be blocked until you are fully on purpose and making the difference in the world you were born to make. How would your life change if you truly felt that living God’s vision is a blank check of joy, prosperity, and wealth?

Here’s a few things to work on in relation to vision and money:

1. Practice detaching your emotional state from your bank account balance. Your self-worth is not your net worth. Will you choose to be joy-filled and light even if your money is funny or circulating elsewhere?

2. Practice being sincerely happy for those that are receiving blessings. Especially the very blessings that resemble what it is you really want.

3. Boldly ask for what it is that you need. Stay in the mindset of expectation that God will handle not only all of your family’s needs, but their heart’s desires. God promises that He will provide our needs. God always comes through. The real issue is our level of faith and belief. How would your life change if you only believed?

Practice these three steps and you will be freed up around money—no matter what it looks like today—and well on your way to true wealth!

With All My Heart,

Ericka

Love addiction approval addiction

In my experience as a counselor for 40 years, I have found that love addiction and approval addiction are far more prevalent than any other substance or process addictions. We live in a love-addicted, approval-addicted society.

What does it mean to be love/approval addicted? Below is a checklist for you to see if you are addicted to love and/or approval. Believing any of these may indicate love or approval addiction.

I believe that:

* My happiness and wellbeing are depended upon getting love from another person.

* My adequacy, lovability, and feelings of self-worth and self-esteem come from others liking me and approving of me.

* Others disapproval or rejection mean that I’m not good enough.

* I can’t make myself happy.

* I can’t make myself as happy as someone else can.

* My best feelings come from outside myself, from how other people or a particular other person sees me and treats me.

* Others are responsible for my feelings. Therefore, if someone cares about me, he or she will never do anything that hurts or upsets me.

* I can’t be alone. I feel like I’ll die if I’m alone.

* When I’m hurt or upset, it’s someone else’s fault.

* It’s up to other people to make me feel good about myself by approving of me.

* I’m not responsible for my feelings. Other people make me feel happy, sad, angry, frustrated, shut down, or depressed. When I’m angry, someone makes me feel that way and is responsible for fixing my feelings.

* I’m not responsible for my behavior. Other people make me yell, act crazy, get sick, laugh, cry, get violent, leave, or fail.

* Others are selfish if they do what they want instead of what I want or need.

* If I’m not connected to someone, I will die.

* I can’t handle my pain, especially the pain of disapproval, rejection, abandonment, the pain of being shut out - the pain of isolation and loneliness.

Living as a love or approval addict is a very hard way to live. You have to constantly make sure you say the right thing, do the right, and look right in order to get the needed love and approval. Your feelings are on a roller coaster – from feeling the wonderful feelings that come from getting your love or approval “fix” to feeling the despair that comes when your “supply” – the source of your love and approval - shuts down, gets angry or judgmental, or goes away.

THE UNDERLYING CAUSE OF LOVE AND APPROVAL ADDICTION

Love and approval addiction is rooted in self-abandonment. Imagine the feeling part of you as a child – your inner child. When you are love or approval addicted, you have handed your inner child away for adoption. Instead of learning to take responsibility for your own happiness by loving and approving of yourself, you have handed your inner child away to others for love and approval – making others responsible for your feelings. This inner self-abandonment will always cause the deep pain of low self-worth, making you dependent upon others for your sense of worth.

The sad thing about all of this is that love is the most abundant thing in the universe. We live in a sea of love – it is always within us and all around us. It is our Source. When you learn to open to Spirit/God/Source, you become filled with love, with peace, with joy. The empty place within that yearns to be filled becomes so filled with love that it overflows to others. You find yourself desiring to give love rather than always trying to get it.

As long as you make others your Source, you will not find the love, peace and joy that you seek. By learning and practicing the Inner Bonding process that we teach, you can learn to fill yourself with love and heal your love and approval addictions. Are you love or approval addicted? Most people are. The following checklist will help you to determine your level of love or approval addiction.

The secret - collection of inspirational quotes part 1

To live content with small means, to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common--this is to be my symphony.

-- William Ellery Channing

Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you.

-- Jean-Paul Sartre

For every problem, there is a solution which is simple, neat and wrong.

-- H. L. Mencken

Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have--so spend it wisely.

-- Kay Lyons

Life is the first gift, love is the second, and understanding the third.

-- Marge Piercy

We do not need more material development; we need more spiritual development. We do not need more intellectual power; we need more moral power. We do not need more knowledge; we need more character. We do not need more government; we need more culture.

We do not need more law; we need more religion. We do not need more of the things that are seen; we need more of the things that are unseen.

-- Calvin Coolidge

Accept the pain, cherish the joys, resolve the regrets; then can come the best of benedictions--“If I had my life to live over, I'd do it all the same.”

-- Joan McIntosh

The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why.

-- Albert Einstein

The disciples were absorbed in a discussion of Lao-tzu's dictum:

Those who know do not say; those who say do not know.

When the master entered, they asked him what the words meant. Said the Master, “Which of you knows the fragrance of a rose?”

All of them knew. Then he said, “Put it into words.” All of them were silent.

-- Retold by Anthony de Mello

Do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the men of old; seek what they sought.

The secret - when you can walk on water take the boat part 30

Although still visibly shaken from my frightful ordeal, I continued staring at him. Suddenly, it seemed as if I were looking through different eyes than mine, as if new worlds were opening before me. I felt the presence of an extremely powerful and loving force. And then, as if by a miracle, I began to feel that I was looking at the face of God. I fell to my knees overcome with awe and whispered, “Forgive me, Lord. Although I didn’t believe at first, now I know that You are truly my Lord and my God.”

“Get up,” He said, with warmth and love in His voice, “No need to fall on knees and stuff like that.” I raised myself as God continued. “It's easy to set up barriers and retain those barriers for a lifetime. You've all built walls, not only na - tion against nation, but neighbor against neighbor, friend against friend. You’ve even built walls between yourselves and me. In your present state, you’ve forgotten the joy and bliss of being close to me yet, if you search your deepest memories, you may have vague recollections of what it was like when the sons and daughters of God danced with joy on the morning of creation.

“This isn’t the only place where life forms exist. Look up into the sky some clear night and see the millions of stars—universes within universes. Look up and you'll know that you are not alone in that vast expanse you call space. There are others, many others and all of them are my children.”

While God spoke I sat motionless in absolute silence. I felt such peace and calm that I forgot about my corporation and its financial troubles. Nothing seemed important except to sit there with Him and listen.

God continued, “The universe is dynamic and changing; it continues to grow. Creation never stopped; it will continue forever. Wherever you are is the center of the universe and the mid-point of eternity. Nothing is static. All things change. But I do not change. The part of you that is Me and the part of Me that is you will forever remain changeless. So, even though seasons change and worlds change, I, God, do not change.”

“Lord, I’m overwhelmed,” I said.

The secret - when you can walk on water take the boat part 54

Together we walked along a lovely pathway in a garden of exquisite beauty. Flowers with the most delicate forms blended their exotic scents to perfume the air with an ever so subtle fragrance. Surely, I thought, Eden must have looked like this. Birds with brilliant-colored plumes sang while painted butterflies danced in fluttering pirouettes creating a rainbow of colors.

We crossed a nearby clearing into the midst of a garden party. The tables and chairs were neatly arranged beneath the tangle of outstretched branches, which served as a sheltering canopy. The comforting sounds of talking and laughter rang out all around us. As we approached a table on the far side of the clearing, a stillness fell over the crowd. A closer look indicated that there was but one person sitting at that table. That person was God, appearing just as I had seen Him in the Big City. “Hello, Lord, What are you doing sitting all alone?” I asked.

“Sometimes it gets lonely being God. Please sit,” He said gesturing in our direction. We pulled up chairs and joined Him.

“Where are we? Could this place be heaven, Lord?” I asked.

“No. This isn’t heaven. Heaven is neither here nor there. Let me assure you, heaven is closer to you than you think. It’s within you. All of this comes from what’s within you. Both heaven and hell are within your mind. All you have to do is choose which you’d like to have.”

“Bless you, Lord,” was all I could say. Realizing how ridiculously stupid I must have appeared, I quickly apologized.“Don’t be embarrassed, John. It’s generally the intent that’s important,” said God.

“Thank you, Sir,” I replied as Marla and Gideon giggled in amusement at my predicament.

“Why don’t you say something, Gideon?” I asked, feeling at a loss for words.

“This is your party, John. We’re celebrating your visit.”

Hypnosis faq answers to common hypnosis questions

* Does hypnosis really work?

Hypnosis does not work well for everyone. For example, suppose the hypnotic indicators and the subjective changes did not achieve the relaxation necessary for a lengthy induction, the controversy about hypnosis may increase.

It is an accepted fact that hypnosis varies widely. There are some people who have undergone hypnosis but then claimed that they felt no different. On the other hand, some patients claimed that hypnosis helped solve their psychological problems. Since hypnosis has long been one of the options in psychotherapy, there is some evidence that supports the clinical use of hypnosis.

* How does hypnosis work?

Hypnosis normally involves an introduction to the procedure during which the subject is instructed that suggestions for imaginative knowledge will be introduced to him or her. A hypnotic process is used to encourage and evaluate patients’ responses and psychological procedures.

Using hypnosis, one person (the subject) is guided by another (the hypnotist) to respond to different suggestions in order to experience an "altered state of consciousness."

Hypnotic procedures and suggestions differ, depending on the goals of the practitioner.

* Can anyone be hypnotized?

The simple answer is No. There are many popular theories that hypnotism cannot be performed on just anyone. From this theory, an implication was formulated that only gullible or weak-minded persons could be hypnotized.

In fact, some studies prove that not all people can undergo a hypnotic stage, but it has nothing to do with being gullible. These studies show that some people have different brain action, which interferes with hypnosis. Thus there are people who can easily be a subject for hypnotism while others cannot be easily hypnotized.

* What happens to your brain under hypnosis?

A quantity of "brain imaging" studies were conducted for those people who went through hypnosis. In this study, scientists discovered that the brain changes consciousness. This experiment also indicated that the color perception of the brain alters as the person experiences hypnosis.

There is also some research regarding the coherence measures of the brain under hypnosis, and it is being compared to certain brainwaves having a neutral activity. This study shows that brainwaves do not run as smoothly as we thought.

* What can hypnotherapy do for me?

Hypnotherapy is a process of influential communication. The therapy assists the patient to establish the strength of therapeutic associations. It can also serve as the framework for a collaborative and mutually responsive relationship.

Hypnotherapy also has a procedure involving a medical process that helps the patient to relax. There are cases where hypnotherapy is applied to achieve attention awareness but in a calm setting.

Mentally passing a driving test

Nowadays, driving is considered as a very important skill. You could use this skill in cases of emergencies or even for something as simple as getting a change of scenery. Some people learned to drive by enrolling in driving schools while others were taught by their parents or friends. In any case, you would soon require a driver’s license to be considered as road-worthy. This can be accomplished by passing a driving test.

It is not surprising that you would become apprehensive when taking a driving test for the first time. Even if you are confident in you driving abilities, you may still feel nervous or anxious. This is quite normal especially if you are one of those people who hate failing in anything. On the other hand, the seriousness of the test can naturally make you worry. Aside from passing a written exam, you will also have to succeed in the practical test. Becoming apprehensive would certainly make you look unprepared.

Driving tests are relatively easy to pass as long as you have prepared for it physically and psychologically.

When preparing for a driving test, you should try getting enough sleep the night before to help you fell refreshed and relaxed the following day. Getting enough sleep would guarantee that your concentration is at its best. To be mentally prepared for your driving test, you should review what you have learned at least two days before. You can even ask a friend to help you with your reviews.

Aside from these, you will have to deal with your nervousness and anxiety. They can be managed through relaxing techniques such as breathing deeply, exercising or meditating. Once you are relaxed you can focus on your driving test effectively. In some cases, the anxiety is so intense that you might feel like you will never be able to finish the written driving test and perform well in the practical part. If this happens, you can always try hypnotherapy before taking the test.

A relatively new technique n treating anxiety, hypnotherapy involves hypnotizing the person and making suggestions to the subconscious. It is believed that when a person is hypnotized, the subconscious is more receptive of ideas. A qualified hypnotist can determine the cause of your anxiety and try to manage it. As soon as you wake up, you will be less anxious of the driving test. Hypnotherapy works best if you undergo at least three sessions.

Impress them with your killer attitudes

3 Tips For Developing That Winning Attitude

What is success? The answer depends on who’s responding to the question. There are as many definitions of success as there are people. Success involves every facet of life: your relationships with others, your ability to make it in the business world, the health that you need to preserve, and the happiness that you enjoy. It also involves a security that goes well beyond financial security; I’m talking about the security of knowing that you have the love, trust, and support not only of family but of friends and associates as well.

However, success does include a degree of financial prosperity. (Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the “gotta have it” scale.) To be candid, we all like the things that money can buy: houses, cars, clothes, vacations, and so on. You don’t need to be super-rich, but you should have a great need not to be poor!

In addition to the financial prosperity that just mentioned, success should also mean success at home, success in your profession, and success with friends and associates. It also means peace of mind.

The question is, what can you do to achieve this balanced success that involves your personal, family, and business lives as well as your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, with a recognition of the need for financial prosperity? It starts with developing the right mental attitude.

Your journey toward success will flow more smoothly if you ride the “right” attitude all the way to the top. “I think I can” beats “I can’t” every time. A can-do outlook on life helps you to achieve goals in record time and make friends and lifelong business associates along the way. Everyone enjoys being around someone who is a solution-finder and who looks for the good instead of the bad in everything.

Here are some important points about attitude to keep in mind:

1. You need to have the right attitude toward your family, friends, and associates. An attitude of acceptance, forgiveness, love, kindness, respect, and consideration goes a long way in any relationship, including those with family members, friends, and business associates.

2. You need to have an accepting, open-minded attitude toward your personal growth and education. The world changes constantly; as they say, “Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine.” Unless you change with it, you’re destined for mediocrity at best.

3. You must have a sensible attitude toward positive thinking. You may hear some people say that “Attitude is everything” or that “With positive thinking, you can do anything.” Careful analysis forces you to realize that this idea is simply not true. Of course being positive is a much needed tool for success, but it takes action, planning, and work – as well.
